Off again at 8:28 – this is a very prompt group! Michael has exclaimed several times that, on this trip, if you are on time you are late! Down the Transcanada for a short way, then down the “Road to the Beaches” to arrive at the tip of the land, and the village of Salvage (Salvaage, as in French). Unfortunately the fish plant closed last year, and, except for a few fishermen, working-aged people have moved away for work. Michael hopes that the sale of houses to those “from away” (mainlanders) will save it, as a tourist destination. The views are classic, especially when the sun came out and the clear blue water turned transparent, reflecting the boat sheds and lobster pots. Today I got a turn on Misty (the bike that runs along with the medalbearer's making sure they are safe and having a great time) I put on about 40 km. 15 with medalbearer's and 25 with Sonny (Sonny is our Endurance Participant. He carries the medal through area's with little or no population on a hand trike. We will get different Endurance Participants through out the relay )It was an great day I don't think I have ever had a better day at work!
