Left this morning around 9 after a complimentary coffee and muffin and headed out toward some dark and menacing looking clouds. I think we were fairly lucky today although we did get about an hour or two of drizzle. Road conditions were pretty good but still several road works stops.
We stopped at Peace River for a coffee and met a local who told us it wouldn't be out of the question to have snow at the moment. He said it had got down to -62c there once and they had to keep a generator running through the night for warmth for three days, meaning they had to take turns going outside every four hours to refuel it. It only takes about 15 minutes without heating for the water pipes to freeze and then explode. Jeez, I was complaining this morning about 6c! Don't know that I'd deal with that.
Carried on to a further stop. Bugger all wildlife today but lots more traffic. We must be getting closer to big cities.
Arrived at Dawson Creek around 3.30. This town/ city seems quite industrial with plenty of factories and trucks etc. Pleasant vibe though.
