Just when you think I've slipped off the slippery side of the globe, I'm back, and just in time to report on adventures that happened quite some months ago. So, I'll be brief, as I have a lot to catch up on...

Many months ago, in a country far, far away, Rob and I left the USA, bound for the bonny shores of Canada. The plan was to stay a couple of days but, as most of our brilliant plans go, we scrapped that one and stayed longer.

Our extended stay in Vancouver was mostly due to our excellent hosts, Dom and Andrea, friends of Peta and Adrian, who welcomed us with open arms and took us all around and out on the town for some hi jinx.

It was whilst recovering from aforementioned hi jinx that we hit the slopes of the world-class skiing village of Whistler, in what was both our first experience of abundant amounts of snow and our first attempt at sliding down snow on a fast moving object. It's hard to put into words exactly how my first snow-boarding attempt went, but let the fact that i was sore for 4 days afterwards, give you some sort of an indication.

We were going to go straight back down to the US after Vancouver but many Vancouverites steered us in the direction of Calgary, one-time site of the Winter Olympics. This was where I learnt the true joy of snow and where we started intensive training for a sport we hope will one-day make it's way into the Winter Olympics, snowball-fights.

Next destination: Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA

Lesson learnt from this leg of the trip: Snow is all fun and games until you have to drive on it.

Totally Narnie guys!
Katie - awesome update. You guys were totally narnie on the slope and won't ever forget that half of the mountain! Records were set that day: 5km of slope, 4hrs.36mins and 1198 secs. We're now in Dubai so if you want to come and snowboard again join us at the Mall of the Emirates. Dom
