i'm just so excited to be finally getting this blog going, or at least tested:) During the summer before I would be going into grade 11, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go to a goalkeeping clinic in Kelowna BC. It was 5 days long and I would be staying in the Kelowna International Hostel for 4 nights and biking to the field where the camp was being held every morning. I had never stayed in a hostel before and while I could speculate from internet searches, I still wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Would the people be friendly? Would they steal my stuff? Where would I keep my food? I arrived on the monday of the first day of Camp. I was excited, nervous, but most of all I was looking forward to when my dad leaves. It wasn't so much that I didn't want to see him, but rather that i had never lived on my own even for a week before in a strange city to play soccer. Yea, that was to be the first real taste of travel I would experience. I must say that it just may have been the best week of my life! The people at the hostel were friendly, the atmosphere was great and I learned so much more than I'd ever though I would. I spent the whole 5 days there in a dorm with 3 french speaking guys from Quebec that were here to learn english and save a few bucks working on a construction site. yadda yadda yadda yadda....
