The trouble with living in a place for a length of time is that for one, you fall in love with the place, and for two, you meet people who become your surrogate family, whom you want to see again. Of course this isn't a problem in my case, only created a bit of a detour in my Gisborne - Copenhagen route.

I gave myself 3 weeks (1 in Australia and 2 in Canada) to reconnect with my past homes, with the hopes of grounding myself a bit before moving on to this next chapter in my life.

While in Australia, I re-explored Brisbane. A marvelous city that I absolutely adore. I ran over the Story bridge, along the river walk, through the botanical gardens, just like I used to. I rode the city cat and even walked by my old house (though unfortunately, no one was home, so I couldn't go inside). I went to Noosa for the first time with Divya and Markus. I can't believe it took me until now to get there. Only 2 hours from Brisbane, it is a gem. A bit up-market, but once you set your eyes on the beaches and bush

Beautiful city. Too bad about all the smog :(
walks that follow them, you'll know why. I went to watch the State of Origin with Jenny at the Regatta and got to see a bunch of my old crew from McVeigh's my old house mate, Claudia as well. Although it was only a week, it was perfect. Hopefully I'm down under again before too long, as I still haven't made it to the outback.

The nice west coast summer I didn't get to experience when I was home last year, made up for it ten-fold this trip home. BC was in a heat wave, breaking records nearly every day, for the entire two weeks I was home. I was able to catch up with old friends and new friends I've made while in New Zealand. I chilled out with mom and dad, held down the beach in Kits and White Rock, drank plenty of Tim Hortons coffee and re-acquainted myself with driving on the right hand side of the road. Got some forest and lake time out in Lake Cowichan, and had plenty of coffee, margarita and dinner dates.

Somehow at the last minute, I managed to get hold of John who is currently in London, and

Spent far too much time in airports over these 3 weeks. Was lucky to catch John in London though.
meet him at the airport in Heathrow during my layover. This holiday was as enjoyable as it was tiresome, and now that I am in Copenhagen, I'm still finding no time for rest. Mind you, I guess I could if I wanted it.......
