Our Route To Oysoos
Anderson Family Joey,
So sorry I have'nt updated this blog in a while. We have'nt found any free wireless WIFI cafes(Not true, but I keep on forgeting my computer), so we have been on the go for a while. I'm doing this blog at my hotel, in the morning. At a Best Western, of course. We're gon'na be staying at a lot of Best Western's. I'm going to start at our begining of our trip, at Grandma's house. This will narate our trip from there. We start at the BBQ... The one, at Aunt Maggie's house. The BBQ was great! It had everything I had looked forward to! After the BBQ, though, it was just sleep and eat. We watched the new Transformers movie. It was actually pretty good! It was just a bit low on some details. Then we got packed into the car, and off for a 1 and a half hour drive 'till we get to Nanaimo. After a bit, we reached the Nanaimo Bay Terminal, where we just got packed in in time. Then we went to the upstairs of the ferry, and relaxed. Mom went into the gift shop, while me and Dad read a little
bit. Then we met my Aunt Sarah and her husband, my Uncle Ed. They were going with us to go and shop at the new Auto Mall, and for Auntie Sarah, to go shopping at Park Royal. They tought that they would fetch the same ferry that we were on, as a bit of a late farewell. We had a great time untill my Mom came back from shopping. Then my relatives went and had breakfast while me and Dad went and raced in the Video Arcade. He won 1, I won 1. Like always. Then we went onto the Sun Deck and walked along for a bit. Then me and the family had to go get ready for when the ferry docked. We said "Good Bye," and we were off. We quickly dropped by Suzuki to get one of those racks that go on the roof, so we could get some more room in the car. Then Mom wanted to get some Fruits and Veggies at Park and Tilford, while me and Dad went and got some Tim Hortons stuff, mainly a donut and a soda pop. Filled up the tank, and we were off. 600 km of miles
of miles with miles of miles in them. Just farmland. We dropped by the Blue Moose for Lunch. I had a Chicken Quesadilla and a Mooseshake (With a hint of Moose!) which I think was a milk shake. I'm hoping for that. Then we zoomed of again with me navigating with the GPS. We got some beautiful pictures that we had taken, like a couple of good ones of Mt. Baker. You will see all that later in the blog. We saw some beautiful scenery. We rolled through a couple of towns, like Abbotsford, and Hope, and then a place called Wine Country, and a couple of other countrys. Then we rolled off Highway #1 and headed off on Highway #3. We reached the peak of a couple of mountains. The view was cool! We were on the Highway when we looked and saw some fairly recent skid marks on the ground and on the barrier that overlooked the edge of the valley. We were at an 8% incline, and it looked like one truck lost his brakes. We even saw the skid markes on the gravel trail of the Emergency Runway, on the side of the road. Seemed like a closs call for that guy. We finally arrived at this town that I'm in right now called Osyoos, where we went to the Best Western Inn that I am now. We unpacked our bags, and went for dinner at an nearby Italien restaurant. It was very good. After that we nearly rolled home, but we thought we'd drop by the mini amusment park right next to the hotel. We only had time for 15 laps of Go-Kart racing (Which I beat Mom and Dad, and I don't even have a drivers license), and a round of mini-golfing. BUt it was fun. Then at 10:50, I came home, showered, got in my PJ's then got into bed where I went and relaxed for a bit, reading my book. We have 700 km to travel tommorow, so I need a good night sleep. I'll update this tommorow night.
