Snowy Morning
Fresh snow fall.Woke up to find it had snowed during the night, making it a beautiful sight first thing in the morning. About four inches had fallen and the fir trees looked lovely covered in snow. The only thing missing was Christmas! At least we didn’t have to scrape all the snow off the car as the hotel has heated underground parking.
The morning started with us trying to find the Canmore Mountain Sanctuary Community Church, driving around looking for 1st Ave, which as it happened wasn’t named on the map. Ended up having to ask for directions at a local gas station, and discovered it was next to the hospital. The service was good and enjoyed it very much.
Following church, we changed and then drove into Banff to take a walk around Bow Falls just outside of Banff. The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel sits majestically above the falls and has a stunning view of Mt Rundle and the valley.
After our walk we drove back to make a late lunch before driving off to Calgary to see the Harlem Globetrotters perform at the Saddledome. We made veggie hamburgers in our little kitchen, which tasted great, then started the

Main Street, Canmore. journey to Calgary. The views in the rear view mirror of the mountains were stunning and it was rather difficult to keep our eyes on the road ahead instead of looking in the mirror! Found a pull off and I snapped a few pics while Gail chatted to one on of the local guys who also pulled over, before carrying on.
Coming into Calgary we passed Olympic Park where the ski jumping and bobsled took place. Those jumps look mighty high! Finding the Saddledome was fairly straightforward, but finding our seats proved rather more difficult! We had good seats, three rows from courtside, but the stairs leading down to them were impossible to find. We circled the entire dome, and had to ask a chap who said we need to nearly circle it again and you will find a set of stairs in what looks like a broom closet. Finally got to our seats and watched as the stadium began to fill up, half of which were kids. Looks like it was bring a kid day! Had a precocious little one sitting right behind us with a foghorn for a mouth - shame we didn’t have any duct tape

Cloudy peaks. on us! The globetrotters were fun to watch what with all their antics and skilful tricks. Quite a laugh and a good evening’s entertainment.
Driving back home we spotted a Walmart, so pulled over and perused the isles and checked out the bargain bucket DVD’s. Found a handful, but they didn’t have Frasier season 8. Will have to check another shop. Got home around 11:30 pm and checked the skies for snow. Nope, no snow tonight!
