Lit glass wall near information desk in middle of departuresGot to Newcastle Airport, kindly dropped off by Liz at around 11:30.
Didn't have to wait long to drop off our bags.
Showed the check-in desk attendant our e-Boarding cards for both flights to Dubai then onward to Sydney.
I was about to leave when Brian asked whether the bags were going straight through.
She had to call over the supervisor to be able to reprint the baggage tags, otherwise we would have arrived and the bags would only have gone as far as Dubai!
No! didn't want any mishaps this time.
Got into the air around 14:00 and arrived early in Dubai just before midnight their time.
Here's some pics of the lighted wall - didn't get the indoor garden - will see if we have time on the way back.
We were in the air again after 90 mins and smooth transfer check-in - left from gate 227.
Emirates really spoils you!
We must have had 5 meals by the time we arrived in Sydney after another 12 and 3/4 hrs (groan!).
Didn't sleep much but it wasn't too bad.
