Well this was an experience. We decided to go to the Dubai World Cup since it was on the weekend after our arrival. This is the richest horse race in the world and even though it was a little expensive to go we thought...what the heck!
So we trotted out the only finery that we had with us and did put our best face forward to Dubai. Unfortunately our best face was not really anywhere near what the rest of Dubai turned up with. We felt a tweeny weeny bit underdressed. The races were pretty cool (not that we actually saw any racing per say). However we had a lovely time in the international village hanging out with some of my work colleagues. The Sheik put on a big of a show for the opening ceremony and there were fires dancers, dancing horses and traditional UAE bagpipes (yes really).
