I've been putting this off for weeks. Today, I've finally found a few minutes of free time, though no ideas of where to begin. Hope you like the pics.

Bu yaz her yerde çok güzel yemek yiyoruz. Karaköy'de süper bir baklava lokantasına iki defa gittik. Sultanahmet lezzetli Hint yemeği var. Sercan ucuz bir lokantaya İstiklal Caddesi'nde bizi getirdi. Sokaklarda midye dolması yiyoruz. Hafta sonlarında Beyoğlu'da Van kahvaltı yapıyoruz. En sevdiğim yemeği Ankara'da yedik - ev yapılmış İran yemeği!!! Benim midem çok mutlu oldu.

It's been a summer of great food. I traveled to Ankara last weekend to catch up with my girlfriend, her family, and some other friends. Some of the finest food I've had in this country have been home-cooked Iranian meals. There have been plenty of other fabulous dining experiences, including Van-style breakfasts, midye dolması on the street, and even some tasty Indian food one night in Sultanahmet.

İstanbul kocaman bir şehir ve çok fırsat var ama aramak çok bunaltıcı bir üstlenme. İyi ki burada çok iyi insanlar var ve herkes beni yardım etmeyi çalışıyor. Belki haftaya güzel haberim gelecek.

I've been looking for work and a place to stay this fall. It's been a rather overwhelming task so far but there are some wonderful, generous people around, and they've all been eager to drop everything to help me. I hope that I will have some good news very soon.

There have been lots of sightseeing excursions that I haven't even touched upon. You'll have to settle for some photos.

Ankara'da doğum günümü kutlamayı başladık. Çok teşekkür ederim arkadaşlarıma! Çok az kaldı!

I was surprised with an early birthday cake last weekend in Ankara. The sun is about to set on my twenties. Thankfully, İstanbul is a city of spectacular sunsets...

Class is winding down - our final exams will finish a week from today. And that's really about all that I feel like writing right now.

My roommate, seen here, is threatening to crush Ä°stanbul's oldest monument, the Obelisk of Theodosius - carved in Egypt (1549-1503 BC).

Cheap eats on İstiklal
There was actually more food served than just bread, but the really exciting part was the price and the location more than the meal itself. The restaurant is a good ways down on İstiklal on the right - still can't remember the name.
