Question: What role do women play in this society? Do they have equality? If not, what discrimination do women in this country face?

In this article, the role of women in Saudi Arabia is discussed. Women in Saudi Arabia have lives that are heavily influenced by religion. Their Islamic faith limits them from having some rights. However, women are not simply confined to home-making. They do have opportunities and rights. Women are expected to live a modest life. Despite these confinements, they do have rights to education and employment. There are job opportunities for women and there are universities and schools for girls.

This article disproves a lot of misconceptions about women in Saudi Arabia. Many people held beliefs that women only had the choice to be a house wife. However, women have rights that are similar to the ones we have in our culture. They are allowed some power and the King is encouraging more rights for women. In Saudi Arabia, women's rights are currently changing and giving them more power, leading to a more dominant life for women.
