CARTAGENA. 2,3,4 December, 2014. Good weather.

This is a very attractive town of 250k. We are staying in the centre just behind a magnificent port and view. The harbour is an ideal port for cruise liners, which apparently frequent regularly during the cruise season.

It also seems to service and provision super yachts. We spied Packer's boat Arctic P anchored nearby. It was more its powerful wifi that bought it to our attention. M found online a website which confirmed its anchorage. A massive vessels, 87 m long, looked like a large tug, with five levels of superstructure!

The town centre was fully tiled. Must have been thousands of square metres. Hopefully the GCCC won't take up the idea. It looked good, maybe a little austere. The surrounding buildings mostly looked grand.

This is also a university town so students were plentiful.

Shops close promptly at 1pm and reopen at 5 pm. Understandable in the heat, but temps now very cold. However didn't stop the town becoming alive at about 7pm. We had our Happy Hours solo!

As i have said the views out to the Med were grand and Cartagena is my most liveable and favourite town. Similar atmosphere to the GC.
