Shalom friends and family back home! So since I am a "free bird" for the remainder of the week, I have found myself being able to sleep in, wake up to eat a brunch, and than figure out my plans for the remainder of the day. I like to classify myself as a "free spirited" type of person when I am back home, and many of you might agree with that. So this "free bird" lifestyle is easily likeable for the time being....sababa.
I sit here in my apartment, with the windows and doors wide open letting in the fresh air as I write this blog entry. It's beautiful, I must enjoy every moment here 😊 Is it snowing in Minnesota yet 😉 SOO last night Reuven picked me up and we headed to Yaffo (Jaffa in English) to meet up with a couple of his friends. This is less than a fifteen minute drive from my apartment in Tel Aviv, but you wouldn't think this. The atmosphere of Yaffo had me feeling as if I were in Jerusalem. The architecture of many of the buildings gave me this idea. This particular area is one of the neighborhoods where Israelis

Beach at night and Arabs live. Almost off of the signs were in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. I find many sings in Hebrew and Arabic even in my Tel Aviv area on Dizengoff, but here, I noticed it even more so. This area was beautiful, and we went for a walk along the sea shore. Reuven and friends said "we see the sea every day, this is nothing special!" All I see in Minnesota is lakes, so I got in the water with my feet. This area was full of seafood restaurants and ice cream shops....somewhere I need to return too to find myself some fresh seafood dinner 😊
Today I have been a beach bum, literally. I woke up to have breakfast on my apartment porch where I saw my neighbor again; he is from Bastille, France, and here on the same program. He requested my help in writing his resume (Professional English language) and a professional email to a organization here where he is trying to get another internship. Yikes, I sure hope I was professional enough for him and the organization! In exchange for helping Davy with his resume, he borrowed his dish soap to me to finally wash

Chicken Gyro, late night snacks my dishes...(my apartment doesn't supply me with dish soap, or toilet paper for that matter. I'm being frugal and only bough tolilet paper thus far...I was using body was to clean my pots and pans!) Davy and I both are free birds for the time being so we took a ten minute walk to the beach and spent the afternoon at the Tel Aviv beach....beautiful! The water was a perfect temperature to soak in! I have not seen any sunburn yet and I hope it continues this way (pale American skin!)
Tonight's plans will be salsa dancing in Tel Aviv with Reuven and friends.
