September 11-12, 2010 Yesterday we went for a historical tour of the city of Nicosia. Our tour guide was this adorable Cypriot women who had a pink umbrella to block the sun and a matching pink dress. She talked to us about how very old Nicosia is. when builders started to create a new building in the old city, they found some very old archeological remains, so the mission was aborted and the excavation began. This also happened when they started to build a new parliament building. So they are in limbo regarding a parliament building too.
