Think we'll visit this one when the weather gets colder!
We have finally settled into our flat in Kew and this weekend we don’t have to shop desperately for new ‘house’ things. We decided to do the ‘tourist’ bit this weekend and start exploring a little around our new home: London. There is enough to do in London alone to keep us busy for a long time yet, which is just as well because we need to work and save for our next overseas trip.

On Friday we took another walk along the Thames from Richmond towards Kingston. The place has a rural feeling! Acres and acres of public farm and parkland. There are cows grazing in the paddocks and horse facilities everywhere! Bridle paths, dressage areas and polo grounds! Woo hoo! I’ve found a new Coatesville. Mum, don’t worry - I won’t be getting back onto a horse in this country… unless someone else pays for it that is!

On Saturday morning we paid a visit to the Kew Botanical Gardens as the main entrance is only a 10 minute walk from our flat. What a massive place! Don’t you be laughing now, but we are expecting our annual membership in the post any time now. The gardens

This thing is huge!
are huge, far too huge to cover in one visit. Lots to see there, we will be going back to look at it again soon.

On Sunday we were off on the tube towards Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and St James Park. Unfortunately, looking very much like tourists, thanks to massive camera around the neck and guide book!

Anyway the sun was blazing due to the ‘heat wave’ so ice creams at the palace were in order. Missed ‘changing of the guard’ but nevermind, we’ll pop back another weekend.

After our London explorations we jumped on the river boat and took a cruise down the river back to Kew pier. Much more scenic than catching the tube home!
