Up at 8:00 A.M. after a much needed rest to enjoy our only day at sea.

Went to Taste for breakfast. Stopped off at the casino and got lucky to the tune of $51. Shawn and I walked a mile, explored, and then had lunch. I picked up Karen from the room about 2:45 and walked another ¾ mile while she put in her mile.

We met the kids at 3:30 for Team Trivia. We scored a whopping 50%. No blow-up NCL beach ball for us.

Returned to the room’s balcony to read until dinner. Tonight we chose The Manhattan dining room. A cabaret performed Motown while we ate.

We have to arise early tomorrow for our tour of Pompeii, Sorrento, and drive along the Almafi Coast.

Looks great!
Your cruise looks amazing! I have never been to BCN, I went to Madrid a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I'm thinking doing a cruise to BCN but fear I won't have enough time to properly discover that beautiful city! I did find some great reviews on www.cruise.co.uk but thought you could give me some tips/advice? Thanks

Cruise to Barcelona
Sam, Thanks for the nice comment. We took our grown kids on this 7 day cruise and yes, we enjoyed our second visit to many of the cities, especially Rome. If your cruise begins or ends in Barcelona, and you want to experience more than just a few hours of the Ramblas area, I would suggest you stay overnight a couple of nights either before the cruise or after. Otherwise you may feel "cheated", if experiencing Barcelona, or any city for that matter is really important. My wife and I actually enjoy the thumbnail sketch you get of a city when you cruise, and are only there for say 6 hours. I don't know if you've read any of my other blogs, but we were in St. Petersburg, Russia on a cruise last year, and got to spend the night, and visit the city again for a second day. If you ever go there you definitely must have two days. Like Rome it begs for more than one day. I've rambled, sorry. Whatever method you decide upon to get to Barcelona, enjoy yourself and have loads of fun! Roger
