The next stop on our Canary Island hop was Lanzarote. It is also known as "Isla del Fuego" or Fire Island. With over 300 volcanic craters this is a most appropriate name. The ranger threw in some straw and it immediately burst into flames from the intensity of the heat

The ranger poured in some water which created a little bit of steam.

It made a loud burst of sound as the steam shot out of the hole.

It is now an art gallery called Fundacio'n Ce'sar Manrique.

Each of these rooms are built underground in a lava bubble. The 5 bubbles are connected by underground tunnels.

What an experience. The can actually carry two people. Just curious...do the muzzles keep them from spitting .....or just from biting? It looks like you are having a wonderful time. Enjoy!
