Zubiri to Arre 17.7km (Total 74.9km) Day 6 In Zubiri I noticed my micro towel was missing from the clothes line, I waited until next morning were I found a lone towel similar to mine blowing in the breeze, so I took it as a replacement. Zubiri to Arre - On passing through the town of Zabaldika, John and I did a detour up a very steep hill to visit an old church up on top of a hill.

Zubiri to Arre - Zabaldika, back of St Stephen church has not had any major alterations over the centuries.

Zubiri to Arre - St Stephen's church - was playing chant music from 'The benecictine monks of Santo Domingo de Selio' , John and I listening and spending some quite time in this most peacefull church.

Zubiri to Arre - St Stephen's church -church build of dressed stone in Romanesque Style and its barrel dome is painted. It has 2 bells in two towers, the smaller bronze bell is one of the oldest in Navarra.

Zubiri to Arre - On arrival to front of St Stephe's church, Mary Luz a nun from the Community of Sacred Hearth was waiting as she does every day for any pilgrims to show them the beauriful 13th century church..

Zubiri to Arre - St Stephen's church - Communidad de Sagrado Corazon (Sacred Heart) is situated next to the church. Zabaldika has 29 neighbours in 8 houses. Most homes are built of dressed stone with semi circular arched doorways and window portals ans symbols of architecture of the 17th and 18th century.
