hey everyone,
well, its funny how quickly your travel plans can change!as you know from our last blog we had decided to go to Antibes in the south of france just to see what was out here in the way of work for the two of us,we were told to give it at least 3 weeks,so that is what we planned to do..
after the first two mornings of dock walking and not having any luck we kinda lost hope, especially because of what people would say to us 'you'll never get work as a couple,its so rare that they ever look for two people' and 'you guys dont have your STCW95 (safety certificate) so you definelty wont get work' AND the typical 'wrong time of year came back next season' .... but by day four we got the phone call,book ya tickets and we will see you in napels, Italy tomorrow night! we were abit nervous and didnt know what to expect,and as its worked out its great!
we have got a job on a 53 meter super yacht called pegaso,it is a lot of fun and quite different to the old 9 to 5 monday to friday. We
started on the 1st of august have been doing 12 hour(minimum) days and not one day off...BUT we have been to places like capri, portofino, st tropez, monaco, cannes, and we are now in palma de mallorca so its pretty full on but the places we visit and people we work with make it all worth while 😊
We are a crew of 12 from all over the world 2 aussies, 2 germans, 4 kiwis, 1 english, 1 scottish, 1 swede, 1 indonesian, and all young the oldest being 35 so they all know how to have a good time!
Ryans job is a deckhand one of 3, looking after the outside of the boat and hes known as the handyman, fixing all the little bits and pieces.. pippi is a stewerdess one of 4, looking after the guests on board and the interior of the boat lots of cleaning and maintaining the inside..hopfully going to be able to bring some beauty therapy skills in some where down the line..
We never know where we are going next or what we will be doing but we do know that the owner is a super keen diver and loves going to
new exotic places,africa is penciled in, as well as all around thailand, its very exciting!
but thats all the news for now,we will keep you updated as much as possible

Hey you guys, Miss you heaps but WOW looks amazing and what a cool way to see the world...from the sea. Your 'new house' is rather impressive...a step up from New Lynn!!! Great bag Pippi!! We are getting ready for Joels first b'day tomorrow...not that I look old enough to have a one year old!! hehehe! Life here keeps ticking along with always loads to do, bills to pay and people to see. Life on a boat is looking rather good to me right now. Loads of love to you both. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
