IN ENGLISH London to Merthyr Tydfil, Wales: 179 miles each way - 23 - 26 August 2013 Three days off over the August Bank Holiday weekend, we arranged to go to the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales famous for its country side roads, valleys and walking treks. We left London after work on Friday at about 5pm and stopped over en route in Chipping Sodbury (close to Bristol) where we arrived at 8pm. John had booked a night at the Cross Hands.
