Laura's Car I was going to start off by saying I didn't know what the beach was called. However, I thought that made me seem way too lazy, so I asked my housemates. We went to PorthCawl today to the beach Rest Bay. I made everyone wait because I was still in class until 5 today. I felt bad, but I really wanted to go. Emma didn't go because she had loads of work to do, so there was enough room in the car! (Laura's car.)
It took a good hour, I suppose, to get there. Which was nice because I was so tired! When we got there it was an amazing view. The sun was close to setting, which I thought was even better. I was glad we came at the time we did. I got a picture of a huge bird on the wall. Then some really hilarious pictures of the girls.
To walk down to the beach you have to pass a little theme park. For those of you in Cleveland County or have gone to the fair there, this park looked much like that C.C. fair, but at a smaller Skell. It was closed so we couldn't

The Park go in. Though I did take a few pictures of the girls standing next to the gates... once we got on the beach it was a vast land of sand. It's not like beaches I've seen where you look left or right and see miles of sand in a long thin line. This was more like a circle. I could stand in the middle and look all around and see sand, or sea, and then see where the sand stopped.
The sand was fluffy up to a short distance. The tide was low, but from what I could tell walking up to the sea, the tide could reach very close the sand's edge. I suppose for example let's say from the pavement of the stairs to the edge of the sea it's about a half mile of sand. From that half mile 2/3's of it could possibly be touched by the water at high tide. That's what it seemed to me at least. Maybe I'll go when I can better judge between low tide and high tide.
Once we got the the sea, it wasn't much but like any other beach like area. Then again, I've never been
to the beach and seen another bit of land across the wide, open water. With the setting sun, water, and another piece of land... Well you can imagine how awed I was. Also, like I said before, the beach was like a circle and outside the sandy area was the outlining land. Like some what of a ledge with a light house on each side of the circle. I think...
This was such a great place to visit. I knew I'd love it and hate myself if I had stayed home just for nap. (Zach would hate me too if I had taken a NAP over a trip in Wales... He'd make fun just for me taking a nap period!) I'll try to post pictures, but I'm not sure if they'll show up..?
