Right, what the hell happened there then? It’s been THREE YEARS since I wrote this blog but for some reason I never published it. I’m not going to edit what I’ve said, basically it’s all based around “One Big Weekend” which is an annual Radio One concert in the UK which, for the first and only time, came to Scotland in May 2006, the fact that it came to Dundee was even better. I managed to get myself to both days, even though I didn’t get tickets for either, go figure? And had a pretty amazing time all weekend, unfortunately Fiona was really ill with the cold and couldn’t make it, leaving me hell-raising on my own. Anyway there’s much more to tell you in the next few blog so I’ll just publish this as is. ... read more

So today was a day of revisiting old haunts, seeing the people I knew when I was here last year. I went up to the hotel (such drunken memories of walking that road...) to see Annette, Dorothy, Charlie, Colin and whoever else still happened to be around. Ended up seeing Jelena and Barry (could have done without seeing Barry), she's leaving for Latvia tomorrow, so that was good timing. Really weird being back in the hotel...absolutely nothing has changed. I keep seeing James around, and it's really upsetting me. I don't know why it upsets me this much. You would think I'd be over things by now. Oh well. I'll live. I cut Karen's hair this evening, and actually did not a bad job! I wouldn't exactly say that cutting hair is my life's calling or ... read more

NOTE: A little administrative note here-in the whirlwind that has been happening since leaving Scotland and arriving in London, I mistakenly posted parts of 2 different entries in the last post. I have deleted that entry and am posting the correct the 2 separate posts. Sorry for the confusion :(--Jeff ADDITIONAL NOTE:Between trying to cram a week's worth of sightseeing, visiting with family and genealogical investigations and not having time to get to an Internet cafe or find a usable signal where we were staying, I will end up completing the remainder of the travel posts when we return to Orlando later tonight. But I have lots of things to tell you about and lots of photos and I hope to get them all up and posted by Wedensday. Cheers from London's Heathrow Airport where we ... read more

NOTE: A little administrative note here-in the whirlwind that has been happening since leaving Scotland and arrivin gin London, I mistakenly posted parts of 2 different entries in the last post. I have deleted that entry and am posting the correct the 2 separate posts. Sorry for the confusion :(--Jeff I awaken at 4:30am to the sounds of sheep grazing, birds singing and the ocean as its waves break against the rocks in the distance. This is our final full day in Scotland and we'll use most of it preparing to leave. We have laundry to do, suitcases to overpack (see yesterdays post, lol) and then a short trip into Oban to post the Thursday entry and have our last supper in Scotland. But for now, I just lie in bed watching the sunrise peek through ... read more

Hens and stags galore in Edinburgh there were loads of us, having said it was still a pretty fun weekend. We went clubbing both nights, Friday night we had the delight of a stripper for the Hen, and on the Saturday some of us didn't get in until 6am!!! Crazy, haa ha. For anyone that has never been to Edinburgh it is beautiful, go as soon as you can, you really don't need longer than a weekend. I had the most amazing massage at the One Spa which I think is part of the Sheraton. Well reccommended for family trips, romantic weekends, or a girly weekend - the shopping isn't great but I am comparing it to London so don't listen to that part. Enjoy the pics!... read more

Wow, so I was asleep before we even took off yesterday. That never happens...I love take off. I always stay awake for take off, no matter how tired I am. That's impressive. However, I have found one good thing to being cosseted and fawned over by my fellow travellers (I don't know why they do it, but they always seem to want to take care of me for some reason...). The Scottish guy sitting next to me ended up moving over one seat, and he and the flight attendant put pillows all over the middle seat, laid me down and covered me with blankets, it was cool. Apparently Jane told them what a harrowing day I had getting from Peace River to Calgary. They tell me that I woke up for the in-flight meal, but you ... read more

I have made it back to Rannoch. I managed to catch my bus and train in Glasgow, though I cut it pretty close. Running through the streets of Glasgow weighted down with luggage is not something that I recommend to anyone, if you're ever thinking that it might be fun to try. It's really not. Listen to my wisdom! Pitlochry was it's usual charming self. I was so happy to see the Baker's Oven...and a Lloyds! But I can't believe that same stupid Spanish girl is still working at Baker's Oven!! How is it that she hasn't been fired yet? She's completely useless! I'm sure even she knows that! So anyway, I felt a bit better with some money in my pocket and some Cornish pasties. It was good seeing Karen again, and there really is ... read more
