In continuing stormy weather with the odd sunny period we left the Summer Isles, drove past the mountain of Stac Pollaidh and reached civilization again at Ullapool, a fishing port which is the largest town in the area, where we had a pleasant pub lunch.

Then it was a continued drive southwards where we visited the deep and narrow Corrieshalloch Gorge. In detiorating weather we went past the ridge of An Teallach with its nine Munro summits (no photos, the weather wasn’t suitable) which reminded of when we ascended it in mist in 1970. The day ended with a bleak drive around Little Loch Broom, Gruinard Bay and Loch Ewe to Poolewe where we stayed the night at a Camping and Caravan Club Site.
