Fortunately the sea was calm so we got a good night’s sleep and were in good form when we arrived in Shetland to commence our 12 day visit to the group of islands which make up the most northerly section of the U.K.
We spent the day exploring the area’s capital, Lerwick, and then drove 25 miles through increasingly remote country to the tiny harbour at Skeld where we spent the night at the village’s community run campsite.
