Dear Kindergarten Class,
Camille and I went up to a small town called Braemar to attend the Highland games. The Highland games are held in several towns in Scotland and include many events. It is similar to going to a track meet where events are happening at the same time. However, the events at these games are very different from a track meet. Mostly they are to show how strong the men are. The events are sprinting around a field, running up a mountain (this is called Fell running), tug of war with a rope, hammer throw, caber throw(trying to throw a large log), a girls dancing competition, and a pipe band competition. Pipe bands are very popular here. It is a group of people that play an instrument called the bagpipe. To play the bagpipe you have to blow air into a bag then press various keys to make different sounds. Camille loves dancing to the bagpipes. This particular Highland game is special because the Queen of England comes to watch. Her name is Queen Elizabeth the Second. She lives in a palace in London. Camille and I wanted to get a close picture of her but we were too far away from her.

Hi Camille and Finnegan
Dear Camille and Finnegan, Thank you for sending us a blog entry and pictures. The video was funny and cool. And it was great. We liked the music and we loved watching Camille marching. We will try and send you a video to you! This week in kindergarten we worked on computers. We also went to the pumpkin patch! It was cold and wet! We would like to know if we could get a closer look at the Queen...or if you can tell us more about her. Does Scotland have a Queen? Hope we hear from you next week. Goodbye! D4 Kinders
