The Christmas Market
Mackenzie posing for a photo at the Christmas Market down in BelfastIt couldnt have been a better time for the family to come visit. I was at the point when I was missing home and then my dad, sister and justin came for Thanksgiving. I guess the feeling of Thanksgiving made me miss home and it was wierd not being with the whole family because they dont celebrate it over here, but having them here was awesome. They had a busy trip, got here Wednesday morning n we started things right away. We did a Black Taxi tour of belfast, and I will put pictures up so you can see it all, then they came to see my team practice and by the time that was done they were exhausted from no sleep. Thursday unfortunatley I couldnt be with them becasue I had to go to class, but they had a great day. It was SO weird for me to go to class and have a normal day and yes I did go to class on Thanksgiving! ha The family went to the Giants Causeway with my coach's husband Gareth and one of the sponsors Mark. The Giants Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interblocking basalt columns, which was from a
result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is on the water so it is very pretty to go see, I havent been there yet, but when I do I will put pictures up. They also went to the Bushmill's Factory where they brew whiskey. My dad got us all presents from there which was a personalized bottle of Irish Whiskey with our names on it, pretty neat. That evening we had a huge Thanksgiving dinner at my coach's house with my team and Paul (The American Volleyball player). It was delicious! We had turkey, greenbeans, potatoes, cranberry sauce and gravy, felt just like home! Of course my Dad did the blessing and did a phenominal job, just like he does for every Thanksgiving. Friday I took them to Randalph's where I eat everyday and they all loved it, they all admitted it was a great food with great waitresses, thanks Sharon for everything you do! Saturday we went to the Belfast Castle which is ontop of this hill and from there you have a gorgeous view of Belfast and Carrickfergus. After we did a little bit of shopping at Victoria Square. Mackenzie found a brand called Mckenzie which is a
sporting brand over here, so she obviously got real excited and bought a ton of stuff with McKenzie on it, it was pretty funny. That evening the Junior Elks had a fundraiser at Randalph's. It was a Mexican Theme and we were waiter's and had to be somberero's, it was a sight to see, being a waiter is a tough job! Sunday we had a game against Moycullen. We started off a little sluggish but made it a close one towards the end n ended up losing by 9. It was the best game I have played so far and I didnt get into foul trouble!! I had 32 points and 13 rebounds so I was happy that I had a better performance, but wish we would have won our first game for my family. That wraps up a busy trip for my family. Their flight was early Monday. I truely had a blast and will love to have more visitors out here!! Hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving and will see everyone in 18 days!!!
Cheers
