Question: What are the statistics on England's poverty? If any, what programs are out there for people who are poor/in poverty?

As we all know, poverty is all over the world. Common places such as countries in Africa has been frequent examples of poverty. However, everyone suffers from poverty like the United States and United Kingdom. Surprisingly, England has poverty rates. As Americans, we see England as a fantastic country that seems economically stable. We would usually picture London, filled with people with money in jobs. However, not all parts of England are like London. According to a 2011 article, statistics show that one in every six children lives in poverty. That's equivalent to 2.3 billion children! There are also families and people that live in poverty. There are also those who are homeless.

However, there are programs for the poor and those who are living in poverty. Just like the United States, the United Kingdom offers food stamps. Local government says that these will help the poor buy food and essentials. There are also charities that interact with England that helps those who are not economically stable. These programs can teach those how to save money and how to be environmentally friendly. Also, these programs help buy school uniforms for the children.
