CapriCapriCapri

Capri was so beautiful!
I'm safe and sound back in London now, mostly recovered from my illness. The end of our Italy trip was very exciting!

I woke up on Thursday and met Allie at the train station. We had to take a train from Siena to Florence, and then an express train from there to Naples. The express train was so cool! It had a plug for your laptop and internet and a dining car! We had a meal on it and watched gossip girl until we got to Naples. Once we arrived we followed the directions on our hostel conformation to the hostel. As soon as we began walking we felt out of place. People were literally staring at us, and we even noticed some people coming to the front windows of shops to look at us. Men were saying things as we passed in Italian, and so we decided to stop in a pharmacy to ask for directions. The pharmacist was super nice and told us where to go, but he said to walk quickly. We found the street which our hostel was on, which looked like it could be an alley. There were people sitting on the street and just

a sign pointing to it saying "Robby's House". We had to be buzzed in the gate before we could go up to the hostel and when we got in the man looked behind us out the door and asked if we were alone. He said that Robby wasn't there but he would be soon so we should just wait in our rooms.

Once we got in our room, which we were sharing with a middle age man who smoked, we got on the internet to try and find another place to stay. It was getting dark and all the hostels in good parts of town were very expensive, so the best option was to use points to stay at a nicer hotel. We told the hostel man that we were staying somewhere else, and thankfully he was very nice about it and we did not get charged at all. We took a cab to our new hotel, which was on the coast and overlooked the other islands around Naples. The bellhop opened the door of the cab for us and carried our backpacks to our room. We got a complimentary upgrade, so we had a suite with a balcony!

Allie being excited in our hotel
It was a gorgeous room, and such a relief after staying in hostels for 6 nights before that. Allie and I went out for our last dinner and spent the rest of the night in the hostel watching Italian tv and playing in our robes and slippers.

The next morning we got up at 7am and had a full breakfast in bed brought to us. It also came complimentary with the room!! It had eggs, bacon, coffee, orange juice, all different kinds of pastries and many other things! It was so so good. After we stuffed ourselves we packed up and went to the boat station. We took a boat to Capri and explored the island. They had a cheap bus going all around, so we got to see so much beauty all around it. The water was so blue and it was almost unbelievable how it all looked. I wanted to stay there forever! We then tried to see the lagoons, but unfortunately they were closed. The whole island was kind of like a ghost town, actually. Because it was off season all the shops were closed, and only a few things were opened. I kind of liked

it though because there was a lot less people and we got to enjoy the beauty without a ton of tourists everywhere. We then took the boat back to Naples and went to this castle that was right by our hostel. It was the oldest castle in Naples and on the roof there was an amazing panoramic view. The castle was massive, and they had an art museum inside of it.

From there we ran back to our hotel and took a cab to the airport. Next thing we knew we were back in London!

I think it is so wild that in one day you can explore an island and that night be in a totally different country! Everything here is so unreal. This experience has taught me so much, and I never want it to end! I cant wait to see what other adventures wait for me!

Italy
That was a true adventure! I wish I had a blog in the days I went backpacking through Europe. Much better than my little scrapbooks. Did you really chip a tooth?
