There were times it felt like this trip would never happen, but work is now finished (well, for me it is – Roy will never truly finish as he’s taking his work laptop with him!) our dogs have been dropped off ready for their holidays (I suspect they may not want to come back home!) and the hot tub has been emptied.

We are packed and ready to go……………. and sit on a plane for the best part of 24 hours!

We’re booked to fly the Qantas ‘kangaroo’ route, with a quick stopover in Singapore. Can’t say the long flight is something we’re looking forward to, but the excitement of being able to travel Business Class is making up for it.

So, this is it! Goodbye to the UK and it’s grey skies, cold wind and rain! The next time we update this blog we will be no doubt jet-lagged but hopefully enjoying some sunshine and the sights of Sydney, Australia.
