Day 14 Map

Friday 21st July

Day 14 on Helen’s long walk home (please read this blog in the Big Brother voice). It is 1:10pm and Helen is still walking home. She is sitting in Ye Olde Crown Inn in Stourport on Severn after a mornings walking. A packet of dry roasted peanuts and a Peroni Italian Beer sit in front of her. Even though her feet ache and tingle she is inordinately happy, mostly because she has finished walking for the day but also some of her smile can be attributed to the beer. She is waiting for a taxi to take her back to Worcester and Rob & Sasha’s Guest house that she left early this morning. The day’s walking was uneventful with Helen getting through two whole rounds of 99 green bottles and a good hour repeating her 7 times table which she was always a bit hesitant on before. She spent a lovely half hour break under a willow tree by the river with her feet raised up resting on the tree trunk. This break reminded her about the things that are good about this walk and gave her enough energy to manage the last mile to Stourport.
