The Wallaby Wanderers
Darryl and Sarah Howells, it was great to see these guys again. Hi all,
Sorry for having not blogged for a while but our world just went bang, as I type this, it is the 14
th January 2014 and I am sitting in the kitchen of our dear friends house Gary and Karen Barber in Tamworth in Staffordshire, whilst Caroline is back home in Perth Australia 10,500 Miles away and I am missing her like crazy, all I can say is thank god for Skype.
My mum passed away on Boxing day, very suddenly and without warning which forced us to react within a couple of hours and with the help of a dear friend jenny, daughter of Janet and Ted Davis, she managed to organise all my travel requirements at the drop of a hat and get me on the earliest available flight available.
With my bag packed Caroline dropped me at the airport at 8.00pm on Friday 27
th January and I boarded my Cathay Pacific flight to London Heathrow, via Hong Kong and in the blink of an eye (Not Really) I was touching down in London at about .4.30pm on a very cold and drizzly Saturday afternoon and door to door my journey was 29
Hours and 41 minutes.
Now this is the important part of the blog, my thanks to all our friends who have, put me up, fed and watered me, booked my travel, and just gave me words of support and I have just done a little list of special people.
What Caroline and I are mindfully aware of is the value of good friends and how important they are in our lives.
My sister Jane and Harry and Lily, thanks for all being there at such a difficult time and holding mums hand until the end.
The Davis Family in Australia, thanks for everything you have done for us.
The Sheridan Family In Australia, for your support and again everything you have done for us.
Peter and Leigh Walker In Australia for looking after Caroline.
Wendy and Gaye Sinclair In Australia for Looking after Caroline
Gary and Karen Barber-Staffordshire,
Mike and Joe Osman-Hampshire
Judith and Paul Rebbeck-Hampshire
Martin and Amanda Eves
Keely and Denzil Davis-Hampshire
Len and Sarah Dupont Hampshire
Paul, and Sarah Roach-Hereford
Chris and Willy Collins-Hampshire
Darryl and Sarah Howells-Derbyshire
John and Lorraine Butler-Hampshire
John and Hilary Benton-West Midlands
All these amazing people went out of their way, to feed me and give me a bed for the night.
Caroline needed to stay in Australia, not only was she part of a project and in the middle of a house sit in West Perth, we were hoping for a nice quite Christmas and a simple New Year together, but this will be one to remember.
Caroline had to move all our stuff as she started an 80 day house sit in Perth on Monday 6
th January 2014 and this was the reason that she didn’t come back as we had made a promise the house owner and there is no way would renaig on a promise or agreement, so Caroline is sweltering in the summer temperature of Perth and I am freezing my bits off in the UK
As Perth is 8 hours in front of the UK in time, when it was Midnight in Perth is was 4.00pm in the afternoon in the UK so I skyped Caroline and I wished her a Happy New Year and when it was midnight in
the UK it was 8.00am in Perth Western Australia so Caroline Skype(d) me to wish me a Happy New Year, so I guess we did spent our News year together.
When I went to see Darryl and Sarah Howells, A.K.A the (Wallaby Wanderers) they took me around to Sarah's mum and dads house who are the Pootling Possums and whom we have met in Canberra, this was a wow moments when three prolific bloggers all met up in one place
All the funeral is organised for Thursday 16
TH January, we just want to get that over a done with and then I will be heading back to Australia on 21
st January (a week today)
I promised I will get around to writing the 2
nd instalment of Christmas Tails, and also will blog our trip away when I get back to Australia.

to you and Caroline. When my sister died, at least it was expected. It must be harder when there is no warning.
