For this trip I left the bike at home and was exercising different muscles. I'd heard and read that the South West Coast Path, 620 miles from Minehead to Poole, is quite hilly from the start. I love the way the shrub looks like smoke.

The ridges reminded me of contours on a map.

I came across quite a few fossils on this stretch of beach. I put some on top of large rocks hoping someone else will find them before they are destroyed by the sea. Last thing I wanted was rocks in my rucksack, even really interesting ones.

I couldn't work out how this tree trunk came to be here. Was it natural or placed there? It couldn't have grown there,could it? and what the odds of it landing like that after a landslip?

Beautifully decorated bunker by the golf course. Maybe still in use to keep pesky walkers of the greens?

This is the first metalhead I saw. I'd had a couple of pints and was heading back to the hotel. I thought it was a real person at first and got a bit of a fright on closer inspection till I realised what it was.
