First of all...your week till today was not really interessting. We're all looking forwart to fly back at 21st October and so...we hope, that the last 2 weeks pass very fast.

Now back to your tip to the Castle Museum.
We finished school a little bit earlier because otherwise we hadn't enough time for the whole museum.
Then you can see how york was in the Victorian time or you can see the social history of york, the military history and the custum history.

Social History
The Castle Museum houses a remarkable collection of objects telling a story of every day life from the past four hundred years. These nationally designated collections include probably the best collection anywhere of British household items from 1600-2002.
The parlour represents the best room in a middle-class home, during the 1870's. It is decorated in the high Victorian style, with richly patterned wallpaper, carpets and cushions, highly carved furniture, and many decorative ornaments and examples of fancy needlework on display. This style of decoration was very popular at the time.
This is the living room or front room of a comfortable working class family at the time of the Coronation of Elizabeth II

in 1953. The Coronation was an exciting time for the nation and thousands of people purchased their first televisions especially to watch the ceremony. In this 1950's room much of the furniture dates from the 1930's and 1940's and carries on the "make do and mend" motto of the 1939-45 War.

Military History
A dramatic trophy of arms introduces the museum's superb collection of arms, armour and militaria. Like all of the museum's collections, only a small proportion can be on display.
The exploring armour gallery allows you to do just that. From medieval to civil war to modern day body armour, visitors can learn and experience the realities of battle protection. This gallery allows visitors to explore the practicalities of arms and armour.
The Castle Museum also has one of the most comprehensive collections of English Civil War armour in the country. Visitors can relive the siege of York through the accounts of a Royalist Soldier (based on an original account). The siege of York can be followed to the bitterly fought and decisive battle of the English Civil War at Marston Moor in 1644.

History
Here is it difficult to find some interessting news because on the homepage you have only links to click on it. But I can say what you can see:
*The Costume Society
*The Textile Society
*The Sampler Guild
*The Knitting and Crochet Guild
*The Quilters Guild
*The Embroiderers' Guild
*The Lace Guild

After the Museum we went to eat in the Pizza Hut, were you can drink as much as you can😊
And then we had to hurry up because we had to take the bus on time, than we had to go to the Megabowl.
We played there, I think it was an hour, and in the end I won although I had one time I made zero points😊

So...that's all for today😊

See you...
