Nice easy drive to Emma’s, where we settled down with a glass of wine or two and for a long chat. The plan was to go to Emma’s to concentrate on work for my chapter for the London Transport Museum, with access to the internet for research, etc… which of course meant Facebook got a bit of attention, but I did in fact get quite a lot of work done - a nice quiet place to work, and once we remembered about the spare key at the end of Monday, could aim for a bit of walk around Bolton, which has plenty of pound shops, but is undergoing quite a bit of a makeover, and has some great Victorian architecture and statuary! Also plenty of ‘salubrious’ lap-dancing clubs, but that’s a different matter… I spent some ... read more

We are just recovering from last nights antics In lovely Farnworth! We went to Sottovento a new Italian on Worsley Road. It was very nice. Stuart managed to order the hottest dish on the menu much to his dismay!!Beads of sweat running down his forehead, followed by a yelp to the waitress for some more peroni!!Thanks to Mum and Stuart for footing the bill! Of course we couldnt avoid the pull of chuffers!!It makes me feel really old going in there now. It hasnt changed a bit. Jons first visit to chuffers and he now knows why we go on about it all the time ha ha!!.Jodi was as good as gold at home with sarah/joanne. So yesterday was my second day at my new job. Saturday night none the less, quite busy. The food coming out was just amazing looking, we have different dishes that emcompass about 20 different places in the world. There's one more week with this menu than we re-launch with a new one. I'm trying to come up with ideas to help Chris the owner on how to get the word out to the younger crowd. I guess we'll just wait and see... I have a few ideas. Guess what? I can now put video up on here.. One of the guys off the domorepoi website made an excellent video so I'll try and get it up on here. Also I added a few new fire photos from the festival. Enjoy :) Solfest 2006... read more

So after a few emails I'm finally making an update to the life of me. Really not a whole lot, in fact if all you want to know is that I am still alive and well , you can stop reading now.. cuz honestly.. it's not been that interesting. The last week hasn't been too exciting, I've been watching my bank account slowly dwindle down and this past week has been full of job hunting. After a few days of searching and getting my resume together I got a few call backs and by the looks of it have a job at one of the "posh"est restaurants here. Even said he wants me to help train some younger girls. It's a beautiful place and is a ethnic food restaurant called Pachamama. They have a website but ... read more

Last few days I've just been taking it easy. The old war ankle injury has been kicking up a stir so perhaps it's good thing I came back. Yesterday was spent by packing up a backpack and we headed to one of the most beautiful places in Bolton that I seen so far called Barrows Bridge. We found all sorts of different trails and did the typical you go your way I go mine thing... I found some wonderful trails through the trees and imgained that this is how green and beautiful it was when Robinhood was alive and damn, I can't blame him for wanting to live in the forrest, it's not a bad idea and hey isn't it everyones dream to have their very own grown up tree fort?? I'll work on it. At ... read more

It's been unbelievable hot here, one of the hottest July's since 1911. Everywhere I go people keep telling me that when they say "Welcome to Sunny Bolton" it's a joke, but this week has been in mid 30's all week. I love it! Last night the rain finally came at about 4am, thunder and lightening, it was beautiful, you just don't get that back home very often do you? So I lay awake listening and enjoying the sounds of thunder rolling off the hills of Horwich. I've been exploring the place and the surronding towns. it's still a shock how green it is, I guess I expected it to be drier for some reason, being summer and all but they consistently get alot of rain throughout the summers here. I headed downtown Bolton the other day ... read more
