Buckingham Palace 1
Buckingham Palace. This front area is not where the royal family live, it is mostly offices and such. The royal family live in another area of the Palace! Today we managed to get up ontime and we had another lovely english breakfast here at the hotel. Our first stop was Buckingham Palace. We arrived there shortly before the Changing of the Guard. We decided to stay and watch the changing of the guard. It was actually very underwhelming! Mostly it was just men in bear hats standing around. Every once in a while a small group would break off and march a few steps. They also played Pirates of the Carribean which was interesting, I loved it but it seemed to be an odd choice of music. The most exciting part was that the Queen's car drove by. There were SO many people there though, it was hard to see what was going on most of the time. We were outside for over an hour, in the hot sun, and even with sunscreen on we got burned!
We were going to go into Buckingham Palace, but the ticket included the State Rooms, a special exhibit and a little of the garden. Unfortunately the State rooms are only open for 10 weeks and the first opening of the year is not until Saturday so we decided that if we

Our next stop was to Harrods. My favorite part of Harrods is definitely the Food Halls. I sucumbbed to the tempting chocolates and got a candied orange slice dipped in dark chocolate, which was not as good as I had hoped it would be. I also had a lemon filled dark chocolate which was amazing! It was soo lemony! I also bought some tea, because I love english tea! Also I found out that I have been sorely mistaken. Father, for all those times that I offer you English Breakfast tea later in the day and you ask if there is an afternoon tea, and I say no. Well apparently I lied, there is an Afternoon Tea. I will bring it back and we can have it one afternoon!
We also made a quick stop at Liberty to look at their Habdashery!
After that we had a nice Italian dinner and went to see Wicked! I love wicked! The cast was not quite as good as the one that was playing the first time I was there but it was still an

The band marching into the palace ground. enjoyable evening!
As a side note, yesterday evening as Sydony and I were walking past the Parliment buildings we saw a large number of cops questioning and arresting people on one side of the Westminster bridge. We were curious but kept walking. This morning we got the paper and there was an article about the police raid. As many as nine gangs playing fraudulant dice or 'three card trick' have been operating on the bridge in recent weeks. As my father knows illegal gamblers can be packed up and scattered within seconds of seeing policemen or cars. That is why the policemen borrowed a doule decker bus and launched a surprise raid on the Romanian illegal gamblers. When the bus pulled up along side the bridge the gamblers were surprised to find themselves surrounded by 30 or so policemen.
Well tonight is our last night in London and we will be flying off to Stockholm, Sweden tomorrow early afternoon! It will be interesting because neither of us speak any Swedish!
