Hi people interested in the Hinkleys trip. Peter and I are still staying with Nicole but since she has been working, up to now we have been venturing out on our own. This means that Peter has actually caught public transport!! All those disbelievers out there who are saying this is impossible......I have proof.
He is also admitting defeat, he has been heard to comment "how good is this system" I still doubt though, if we will ever see Pete on a tram back home.
The weather has been hot - around 30 deg, but somehow it seems hotter. The Poms are complaining incessantly, but we had our own Aussie solution. That's right we went swimming in the middle of London’s Hyde Park. Obviously something not done here. Hyde Park is enormous - 145 hectares of parklands once used by Henry V111 for hunting!!! Quite beautiful, especially the rose gardens.
We are enjoying every minute. I have just heard from Lee, he has a long trip ahead of him, something like the next 26 hours of flying or waiting at airports before arriving in London.
I am now in action with the photos..... my IT support has arrived after 26 hours from Minneapolis and LA. Lee has had a great trip but arrived needing a sleep. Instead he was whisked off to Fifteen - Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, it was a great night but no Jamie.
Nicole is now on holidays so the plan is for a few hard core shopping days. Not for the weak or faint hearted.
The London Eye was our first stop ( I had to do at least one tourist thing) then off to Oxford Circus, we were all warned to wear comfortable shoes and when Nicole wears flat shoes you know you are in for a long day of walking.
Only one day left in London and that has been allocated to Harrods.....the entire day. If Petes lucky he will get an hour off for lunch. Saturday morning is an early flight to Paris and I will get back to everyone then. Hope you enjoy the photos so far
