Many more lights than in Tenerife!
Today we were treated to a day trip to Canterbury, Dover and Leed's Castle! Having never been on a coach tour before I had no idea what to expect - turns out it was a great experience, spoke to lots of people and learnt an awful lot about British history. Leed's Castle was like nothing we have in the Canaries - over 800 years old, it maintains its original features despite being rebuilt various times. We proceeded to Dover to have a look over the English Channel. We could just spy France, as it was a clear day, and it only looked as far away as La Gomera or one of the other islands. Later we went along to Canterbury, to go to the market and potter around the shops. Beautiful back roads and sweet shops - we even managed to find some canarian bananas in the market! Turns out we're not so far away from home after all.

Canterbury Cathedral - unlike the churches in the Canary Islands this is an Anglican Church. It has had a long history, being passed between people, churches and religions - which we learnt all about on our guided tour!

The fauna in England is completely different to that at home! These beauties were just coming out for an early spring.

The rivers here are a little fuller than the barrancos in the Canary Islands
