We made it! And in one piece! Woohoo!
Firstly I'll note that we have barely slept in the last 48 hours. We slept about 3 hours during the flights (total) so now we have been up for a very long time and my spelling may be poor, and stories may be boring! My eyes are stinging like all buggery and its only about 4.30pm so need to stay up for a while to avoid further jetlag tomorrow.
The flight was fairly uneventful - all the normal findings were present; crying babies; freaky people; smelly dunnies; and crusty food. The highlight was certainly Singapore Airport - it is amazing - great facilities, super clean, and just some very nice and relaxing areas. I was very pumped up about flying in the new Airbus A380 for the last few months and it was pretty good, but not amazing. It is just normal economy in a damn big plane. When we were arriving into Heathrow though it was super quiet and there was no engine noise. Everyone on board was quite amazed, as it felt like we were just gliding down to land with no engine assistance which was odd.

Guard and Jenni
Not sure which one is the guard. Standing so straight! had a slight run in with a customs Nazi in Singapore. The lady pulled out my Vegemite, looked at it with total confusion about what it was - and said "can't bring this in"... and I asked why... originally she didn't have a response, but then said that because it was over 100ml. I explained that it was just Vegemite and that it was no harm to global airline security. She said that it was a "paste" and dumped it into the bin. I said "well actually its not a paste.... its Vegemite"... but it was too late - my jar of Australia's favourite spread was gone. An Australian man in the line behind me said "ouch, thats just not cricket, vegemite in the bin!" - We agreed and had a chuckle at the stupid rules, pondering how on earth a jar of Vegemite could be deemed a 'potential security risk'.
Anyway, upon arrival we were greeted by Jenni's Uncle Brian, who had preloaded Oyster Cards (travel cards) for us, which was lovely. Jenni's Aunty and Uncle (Brian and Claire) who we are staying with are amazingly generous people, and extremely kind. Their place is beautiful and the room
is lovely. While typing this I'm enjoying some lovely homemade brownie marshmellow type things which rock.
Today we went exploring around Central London and saw lots of the touristy things that people do (see pictures). It is incredible how many tourists there are EVERYWHERE! People snapping photos everywhere you look... very unlike that little town Adelaide - where the odd tourist can be spotted snapping the Malls Balls.
We walked aimlessly for a few hours and stumbled across lots of cool places. On the way home we stopped at the local pub The Harvester for some nachos and the obligatory beer.
Apparently we are having a BBQ tonight which sounds great to me! Hope all is well in Adelaide, as all is great over here! Missing people already though...

Vegemite & Beer
Bad luck about the vegemite, but not to worry. At least there is no problem withe the beer supply. Good to see you wasted no time in sampling it. Keep up the good work on behalf of all beer drinking Aussies. Cheers guys.
