Apologies for being really lazy in posting about my October/November 2007 trip to Egypt. With so much activity in such a short amount of time, I'm only now- months later- fully digesting all that we saw and experienced on the trip.

We started off with a stopover in London- the perfect way to break up a long flight and take full advantage of the otherwise 8 hours we would have been stranded at Heathrow airport, awaiting the relative short flight to Cairo.

With Mom and Heather, stopping in London provided an oppourtunity to meet up with fellow Torontonian and long-time friend, Dan who just so happened to be on vacation in London. It was also an excuse to finally hit some must-sees that just never made the itinerary on the past 3 trips to London: The Tate Modern, St. Paul's Cathedral, and another hit play, "Swimming with Sharks."

After the requisite naps, we hit St. Paul's and the Tate, and met up with Dan for the play. I climbed to the top of St. Paul's on a typically grey and overcast London day, but it was still worth the spectacular views over the Thames. I never seem to

tire of London and all it has to offer. Despite the hundreds of narrow stairs, I'm more than glad I made it to the top.

"Swimming with Sharks" was also a fantastic treat. Starring Christian Slater, the play is based on a movie I quite enjoy. Our sets were fantastic- much closer to the stage than Mom and I had been for "Equus" with Daniel Radcliffe back in March. After a great show and an italian dinner, it was goodbye to Dan and time for us to prepare for the main event: Egypt.
