The Monument is a tall tower, which was built after the Great Fire (1666) to commemorate the tragic event. It took 6 years to complete the construction ( 1671-1677), it is 62 meters high and there are 311 steps to climb to the top.It is on Fish Street Hill and it costs 2 ponds to climb to the top. And at the end of this journey, when you get down again, they give you a certificate stating :
This is to certify that .....(name)..... has climbed the 311 steps of the Monument.

Bank area is deserted on Sundays, so we wandered around the quiet streets, taking photos of the sky-scrappers and the cutting-edge architecture blending with the old Victorian one, making a contrasting, but delightful view.

Enjoy the pictures!
