Sorry for this being so late, but we have been exhausted. In fact, it is 11:30pm as we begin this but we wanted to complete something.
We arrived in London August 31 at 11am after Sheila sleeping all night and Fred 90 minutes (typical). We spent the rest of the day acclimating and then sleeping.
First day sightseeing we went to the British Library where the Limeys would let us take no pictures except for the advertisement, which we include. Very unfortunate as there were a ton of hand written books, beautifully illustrated from 900 to 1350 and even a few at the beginning of the first millennium.
Additionally we attended the last day of the exhibit honoring the 800 anniversary of the Magna Carta. In addition to viewing this document we saw a handwritten copy of our Declaration in Tom Jefferson's own hand.
We then proceeded to the British Museum where the Brits were a bit more generous, allowing pictures. We include five here. More from this museum will follow.
