We have finally arrived! We arrived around 1:30ish PM London time (5:30AM AZ time). It was a good flight. There were three emopty seats in the back of the plane we decided to move to so we could spread out. There were a ton of movies and tv shows to choose from. We took 1/2 an ambien around 9PM. Chris was out about a 1/2 hour later, took me a little longer. I didn't sleep well, but only because I can't sleep sitting up.
We took the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station and took a cab from there to the hotel. I think the cabs here look like mini hearses. No trunk (that I could see), the luggage sits in front of you on the floor. It is very strange with the driver on the opposite side of the car and driving on the opposite side of the road!
We are staying at the Santctum Soho Hotel near Picadilly Circus (a mini version of Times Square). Very nice hotel, only 30 rooms. The rooms are on the smaller side, but fully upgraded. Our front door handle is encusted with diamonds (check out the pic!). A hotel employee showed us to our
room, came in, explained how everything worked and where everything was. Taylor & Lexi - we have a WII in our room and a flat screen tv above the toilet (you are suppose to watch through the mirror in the hallway).
We put our bags down, quickly changed and headed out. We walked for a while, mostly in the expensive
shopping district. It is definitely not drab dressing here like I was originally told! We headed back towards our hotel and found a small pub. We split a huge order of fish and chips with peas (super good!) and large nachos. The food was really good.
We then headed to Big Ben, The Tower of London and the London Eye. Walking through the streets, London, so far, hasn't been really "dirty". But when we headed near the London Eye, the trash was everywhere. People do not use trash cans, they just throw their trash on the ground, It's pretty disgusting. The London Eye was a lot of fun. The views are incredible. The Tower of London and Big Ben were amazing. So beautiful. The detail is incredible. We did not go inside, but just walked by it. We headed back
towards the hotel and ran into Westminister Abbey, which was pretty incredible as well. We are going to "try" to make mass there tomorrow. We'll see. On the way back to the hotel we stopped and ate at a small pastry shop, which was not needed, but delicious!! It will be an early night for us tonight. I'm beyond exhausted and can't wait for bed. I can barely keep my eyes open typing this. So, disregard all the grammar and spelling errors.
We are thinking about heading to Windsor Castle tomorrow and then a Thames River Cruise that night.
Heading to bed!
xoxo,
Kelly

Loved all the pictures! Everything looks so pretty and old, just like you imagine it would. Looks like good weather too. I can't find the picture of the diamond encrusted door handle. Did you forget to upload it? Hope you got to do the Thames River cruise....can't wait to see more pictures! Hope Bob and Rich made it in safely. Have fun! Luv you guys, Mom.
