At Sydney Airport
Nice and refreshed and unknowing of thr horror that is 22hrs of flight! So after lasting until 3pm local time on our first day me & bee crashed out and slept for a good 16hrs =)
Waking early and finally feeling refreshed from sleeping in a horizontal position for the first time in three days we decided to visit the natural history museum just down the road. We decided to go enrich our knowledge of history! Oh and it was FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Free things are our new found friend.
Surprisingly though we arent finding London to expensive, we were worried after being repeatedly told we wont last more then a few days in London because of the extreme cost of living. $99 coffees, $389 dinners and $1,000,000 hostels were what we were expecting. What we found after walking around Kensington for half a day was that food and drinks are actually cheaper then Sydney. Coke is only 90 pence or around $2 compared to about $3 in Oz, the biggest spring rolls in the world for only a pound, chocolate is about 47 pence or about a dollar and lucky for us most pubs are having January sales to get customers in the door so meals are only 4.95 pound!!!! We have
Pygmy!!!
Another Pygmy ate him.... set ourselves a 10 pound budget each for food and drink each day and are finding its pretty easy to live on.
The best cheap thing we have found though is
ALCOHOL!!!! It is dirt cheap here and is sold pretty much in every store you walk into. Beer comes in 500ml cans and is 5 pound for 4 cans. So about $10 for 2litres of beer!!!
While most chick drinks are about 3.96 pound for four. Goes to show just how much tax is on aussie grog!
Back to today - Natural history museum We strolled around for a few hrs and saw some pretty interesting stuff including dinosaur skeltons, a fake animated model of a T-Rex which looked at then roared at Bee which scared her haha. Lots of models of animals from around the world, a precious gem area with some pretty impressive stones and an interesting earth section with an earthquake simulator!!!! I know Earthquake simulator!!!! (It wasnt as good as we thought it would be =(....)
The building itself is massive and quite beautiful.
That's it from me, attached are some photos of the museum and us acting out
either what the dinosaurs were or how we would react hehe
Bees notes & highlights: SUP SUP!!
*T-Rex is a scary mofo but pretty much a hottie
*I learnt I love to pretend that dinos are coming after me and run squealing down the museum hallways
*They had a big exhibition on the volcano that erupted in the Philippines in 1991 which tripped me out because my mum and me were there and experienced the whole thing (I can't remember though)
*Homo Erectus is a funny term
That's about all for the moment 😉 winky face
