Like a rat out of Hull....

So the day has finally arrived....six months after booking the flights, about two years of planning, saving, scrimping, selling most of our belongings, quitting our mundane 9 to 5 jobs, finding a foster home(thanks to Nigel & Chris) for our two cats Misti and Micky and some very generous help from family and friends we find ourselves heading off for distant shores.

It should take us about four days to reach our first port of call on the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia(via a one day whistlestop tour of Singapore) via car, train, tube, plane, tube, overnight jungle train, car & finally water taxi.

We now sit the departure lounge at London Heathrow terminal 3, with mixed feelings of excitement, happiness, fear and a little sadness of leaving family and friends.
