Well I am now down to 114 days and it feels like all the pieces of the jigsaw are coming together and the excitement is growing day by day. Last night after alot of waiting, I got an email through from a tour operator in Laos where I can go and help with some tribe horses on an elephant village so I am really excited about that as I get to go and help with some young horses. Giving up the horses when I go away will be one of the hardest things to do so to be able to carry on the passion when I go away in another country is an added bonus and I think this will be a challenge. After discussing my travel plans with a friend on facebook I have managed ... read more

Well as we all know as travellers things do change! The countdown is now down to 121 days so I'm now leaving nearly 2 weeks early. The route has been re-routed to Hong Kong then on to New Zealand which was my end point anyway. So now I'm going back to the place I love - South East Asia and plan to do all the places that I haven't and really make a go of it! The luck of it today was that I got an email from a horse ranch that have an immediate vacancy in California - this is another option further down the line. It was the original plan but when it fell through I could have either waited for things to develop and just hope that fate took its course or take ... read more

Well I am on the 2nd countdown to my next trip. Been back in the UK since September 2009 and haven't been able to settle down at all. Worked a few part time jobs where I keep the horses and also for my dad with his business. I am now at Waddesdon Manor working as a Bookings Officer which is a contract position, booked my flights at the end of January and I am due to leave on the 3rd August. The original plan was to spend 6 days in New York then go and spend 5 and a bit months in California. That has unfortunately changed in the last few days so it is up in the air at the moment. But the trip is booked so that's all that matters at the moment. Something ... read more

1 day before I go now and I can't wait. Just getting everything ready, whilst having a bit of a panic about trivial things. This time tomorrow i'll be settling into my seat on a plane for 13 hours with Dave trying to get me to play card games, should be fun but it's not long till i'm on a beach in Fiji. Goodbye England!... read more

This time next week, I'll be a couple of days into my trip from Nairobi down to Johannesburg via Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana! Well, with less than a week to go, I think I have nearly everything sorted... Just waiting for my "self-inflating" sleep mat to arrive and a few clothes and I'm good to go... No idea if I'll manage to keep this updated over the five weeks, but I'll do my best!... read more

Hi again everyone! It feels like ages since we posted our last blog in May. Last year we had tons of blog posts because we were very excited to share all of our travelling adventures with you when we visited amazing countries like Italy, France, Germany, etc. We haven't done as much travelling this year due to the fact that we're saving up our pennies for our wedding! We can hardly believe that our wedding is less than 2 months away!!! We are so excited and very much looking forward to seeing everyone again. Despite the fact that we haven't travelled as much this year, we have still had a fantastic year abroad and had the chance to visit Ireland, Belgium, Scotland, Wales and a couple more places in England. We'll soon be packing our stuff ... read more
