Long story – won't bore you all but suffice to say that the poor engineer is still here at 8.30pm but we do have a new drive plate
and gearbox installed and there is no more rattle – hallelujah. At £40 per hour labour charge (plus VAT) I await the invoice with some trepidation.
We did manage to wash and polish one side of the boat in between the heavy downpours but you need to see it to really appreciate it.
We head off early tomorrow - pumpout is the first port of call.

Morning!
Well what an adventure you have had so far, and only 8 days in! Great photos, but sorry to hear about your gearbox, although pleased to hear you are all washed and brushed up for your next part of the journey. GWR - we have supplied the coal in the past :) love to both and looking forward to your next entry x
