Dunlin moored at The Green, Hungerford
Hattie treats The Green as her own back garden 0 locks, 53 in total.
Pleased to have left the GWR behind - it isn't normally a problem but Hattie decided to freak every time the train whistle sounded. The GWR was built only a few decades after the Kennet & Avon and took much of the freight business from the canal.
Shopping, cleaning, walking on Hungerford Downs and Hungerford Marshes.
Should be moving on tomorrow but for 2 issues:-
• Still no news on canal closure at Newbury.
• Called out the boatyard who serviced Dunlin 2 weeks ago as engine has been very noisy at slow speeds - seems the gearbox needs either reconditioning or replacing. Do we go for the cheaper or the quicker option? If we go for the quicker option will we then be waiting round for the canal to reopen? Will have to sleep on it all.
