I'm still on Nashville time, taking naps and sleeping accordingly. In the morning, I'm going to get up at 7:30 and force myself to get on local time! I was up all night last night, finally falling asleep at 6:30 AM, which is 12:30 AM in Nashville. I slept until 11 and jumped out of bed, aggravated with myself for wasting time. Almost immediately, there was a frantic knock at my door. Wiping the sleep from my eyes and straightening my hair, I cracked the door. It was the lady from the cafe downstairs, who said something so fast and with such a thick accent, I couldn't understand her. After asking her to repeat it 3 times, I learned that my school had called Dave, the B&B owner, looking for me. (I had given my B&B ... read more

and all through the house, Laura was dancing, like a tiny wee mouse. Tomorrow we embark upon our journey across parts of Europe. The tension is mounting and the expectation is through the roof. We write to you all now from sunny Luton (Surprisingly i'm not being sarcastic). We met our good friend Simon today in the park for a beer and a burger, or "burgar" as it is pronounced here. Topics of discussion varied from existing outside of time, to artificial intelligence and landed comfortably in the lap of Jay-Z and his performance at Glastonbury. Safe to say that today was a very normal and relaxed day. The fun begins tomorrow however when we shall make our first "real" entry from Rotterdam. We shall leave you here in suspense... until tomorrow… Goodnight. ... read more

Today has been spent getting the very few last bits together.. and packing our rucksacks ready for the flight tomorrow! It is quite exciting (well I am the excited one, Lucy is the nervous one!) Tonight Luce is off to say her goodbyes to Ryan, and to upload as many songs as she can onto her IPod. As you can imagine, three months of the same music will probably get very boring!! Rachel is taking me out for a birthday treat in a bit, as I will be away when I eventually turn 18.. :) It has been horrible saying goodbye to everybody though. We will miss everybody, but I am sure these months will fly by. Amy x... read more

Bargains all round today ...my Daddy would be very proud of us! First, we got cheap tickets for our train rides to London ...we think we looked so young that we must have got student rates!! Getting good at this ticket in the machine to open gates business now! Luton to Blackfriars on the overhead train. Hopped off (yes, we are youthful students you know) and walked along the Embankment to Westminster Bridge right next to Big Ben. Many photo stops along the way. Our second bargain was a saving on tickets for the London Eye as Sue prepaid on the internet (students have to watch their budgets you know!). No queues, a bit of a frisk of the handbags etc. and we were up up and away on our "flight" on the London Eye. It ... read more

Oh how I love computers and new keyboards!! Friday 9th May I was allowed out on my very own as Maia and David were both at work! First I went to work with Maia to see what goes on at the Bobath Centre and meet the staff there. A very interesting place and a lovely group of people. Spent some time with Rosie who does a similar job to the one I had when I started at Child Health Centre. Ran (yes, I ran, can you believe it!) to the station to catch the train to Edinburgh. A great service with tea/coffee etc offered on the train. Got my bearings wrong as I came out of the station and clocked up quite a few extra steps heading in the wrong direction! Eventually found the entrance to ... read more

This will hopefully be the first entry of many as the 12 month tour starts tomorrow. How could I leave without writing from my own country, without turning my own land red on my map of ‘blogged’ countries? So… what do I write about? How it all Started In February 2006 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Although crushingly devastating at the time, I had an amazing support network of friends, family and work colleagues who ensured I kept it together and completed all the necessary treatments in good spirits. Although not the greatest news for any 26 year old, I now find it difficult to say it was a bad thing. My wife and I are closer than we’ve ever been, and it certainly makes you think of what you’re doing with your life and ... read more

ODELL… Hello! The boys had yet another brilliant win on the weekend, over the very strong Bedford Ath. They were on the same points heading into the game but the boys were fired up and pulled out a great performance and smashed the home team 45-23! It was a great game to watch and luckily the one that Byrons cousins (Uncle Martin, Auntie Julie, Aubrey and Liam) came to watch. They had just arrived in the country on Monday so it was a great surprise for Byron when they called him Friday to say that they were coming to the game AND that they would be making a trip to the town of Odell on Sunday if we would like to join them. So during the match I organised to have dinner with the family that ... read more
