A stroll along lakeside boulevard, Utoquai, to Zürichhorn park should
be top of the list for newcomers to the city. A wide, elegant avenue, on
the right day it offers stunning views with snow-capped mountains in
the distance and Zürich's classical beauty closer to hand, sunlight
sparkling on the water making everything feel fresh, clean and even more
attractive. But it's actually quite a hike to the park, so the modern,
inviting Kiosk is a welcome sight for the footsore.

A stylish
one-storey building, the sides are made from large coloured glass
panels, echoing the natural beauty of its park surrounds. Specialising
in Italian cuisine, the pasta is homemade, pizzas come out hot and
crispy from the pizza oven and it's all pretty delicious. A popular spot
for locals, join them for a glass of wine or two on the large terrace
overlooking the lake; boats come and go, ducks waddle by and it's
superbly relaxing.

Stefan had meetings all day so we braved the rain and headed to Kiosk. Spent the morning there and then back to Stefan's to get ready for the evening with Eric and Ale.<ul class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style">
Took the train to old town and walked the rest of the way to their home. It is in the very heart of the old town and they told us stories of how ruthless people can get when one of the spaces become available for rent!

We had raclette with a grill on top for meat. Raclette is cheese melted in these scoops by individuals then added to potatoes, meat, pickles and salad. Another regional dish. Lots of wine and laughter to accompany the evening.

Their son Benjamin is studying music(piano) and he gave us a small private concert after dinner. He has a baby grand at the house. Evidently to get in into the house involved having a crane lift it over the top of the building and then down into the window.

Dessert with more wine and then back to Stefan's. A very nice day.
