Quick Notes:

1. In Switzerland you have four languages from which to choose. Only problem is that we don't speak any of them well.

2. I've realized that my conversational skills have dropped tremendously, but my communication skills have advanced greatly. This point was driven home as I tried to explain to our Spanish friends the difference between goats and sheeps. "Baaaahhhh" or "Baaaahhh (with me pulling at my beard to resemble a goat).

3. We found a way around having to use the gross campground bathrooms: Cheese Fondue!

Switzerland is the most beautiful country ever. seriously. the first day we pulled into lucerne was beautiful, but it was later in the afternoon so we decided to catch up on our housecleaning and did some laundry. that was dumb because it rained straight the next 2 days. we bought some swiss beer (good!) to drink while we waited for our laundry and noticed that our neighbors had spanish plates. matt says (2 beers in) Go make friends with the spaniards! so i do. I am speaking in terrible spanish, but we all get the gist. then she is speaking in spanish and I am speaking in english, but we are still understanding each other (matt is very impressed by me so I kept talking to her). anyway, to make a long story short, we made friends. they are from barcelona and we sat with them drinking beer all night. or rather, i should say the girls spoke in their spanish-english and the men sat there having their wives translate for each other as her husband didn't speak english and matt doesnt speak spanish. we are going out to dinner with them when we get to barcelona! that is fun. guess what their names are. Juan and Maria. ridiculous. we should have told them our names were Dick and Jane.

So Lucerne ended up not being as great because of the pouring rain and us huddling in our tent, but we did manage to have swiss fondue before we left so i was happy. i want to go back there sometime without the rain!
